Summary

A riveting documentary, Photo Farag recounts the tale of ten siblings from Iraq who immigrated to Israel and revolutionized photography. Faraj Bilbul started photographing in Baghdad when he was nine years old and continued after he immigrated with his family to Israel. The brothers opened the largest chain of photography studios in the country. Using rare archival footage, nephew Kobi Faraj tastefully embarks on a journey to solve the riddle that is his family.

Kobi Farag

Born and raised in Petah Tikva, Kobi Farag is an Israeli actor and filmmaker.

Born to a famous family of photographers, he started his career in the Israel Defense Forces Theatre, as part of an ensemble with Ilan Rozenfeld and Oded Paz. They were his co-creators of the cult series HaPijamot, a sitcom about a struggling band.

He is an actor for the Cameri Theater of Tel Aviv and hosts a weekly radio program at the Israeli Defense Force radio beginning in 2012, and has appeared in television series, sketch-comedy shows, and feature films.

In 2016, his debut documentary film about his family Photo Farag premiered at the Jerusalem Film Festival.
