Summary

Using never before seen archival footage, this moving documentary set in the idyllic city of Kastoria, illuminates the lives of the Greek Sephardic community until the Nazis took control of the town—dooming the substantial and storied community that had existed since the times of the Roman Empire.

Director's Bio

Lawrence Russo studied at NYU’s film school and co-founded ‘The Shooting Gallery’. He also produced and directed the Emmy-nominated PBS short film showcase ‘ShortCuts’, hosted by Louis CK.

Larry Confino is the founder of Synapse Productions and executive director of ImageRescue, Inc. For over 25 years Confino has been producing documentaries and commercial projects and directed the documentary ‘Racing Roman’.
