Summary

From Córdoba, Amsterdam, and Venice through Sarajevo, Thessaloniki, and Istanbul to Tiberias, Safed, and Jerusalem, the film also shed light on the neglected story of the Sephardim in the Shoah through a stop in Auschwitz-Birkenau. Each site of the journey is accompanied by romance songs and ‘piutim’ in ‘Judeo Español’, Ladino, performed by Israel’s national singer, along with insights into Sephardi culture.

Shmuel Imberman

Shmuel Imberman (1936) is an Israeli Screenwriter, Director, Producer and a Musican. He’s considered as the pioneer of music videos in Israel. Also known for Overdose (1993), I Don’t Give a Damn (1988), 5 and 5 (1979) and Two Heartbeats (1972). In 2006 he received an Honorary Ophir Award by the Israeli Academy for Film and Televison for his “Contribution to Israeli Cinema and Televison”.
